Between 1982 & 1984 the electromechanical division of United Arab Agencies, a subsidiary of the Abbar Group, was headed by Sh. Abdullah Abbar and the lately to become the General Manager of EMECO. It was the decision of both to establish EMECO as an independent company to target electromechanical projects in the construction sector. EMECO was established in 1984 as a company specialized in electrical & mechanical projects. In 1988 EMECO was awarded a SR 54,000,000 project to design and construct a 9 months turnkey project in Mina two slaughterhouses each with a capacity of slaughtering 1,500 carcasses per hour and two cold stores each with a capacity of freezing and storing 70,000 carcasses.
Now, 40 years later EMECO has become an industry leader in the construction of all types of civil, architectural, fit-out, and electromechanical in all commercial, industrial, residential, hospitality, and infrastructure projects.
